Exxon Mobil Corporation est un groupe pétrolier organisé autour de 3 pôles d'activités :

- raffinage et distribution (78,8% du CA) : 5,2 millions de barils de produits pétroliers (gasoil, essence, fioul, lubrifiants, huiles de moteurs, etc.) vendus par jour. A fin 2021, le groupe exploite un réseau de 22 545 stations-service sous les enseignes Exxon, Mobil, Esso, etc. ;

- pétrochimie (13,3%) : notamment huiles, aromates, alcools, éthylène, élastomères, propylènes et polymères (26,3 Mt vendues en 2021) destinés aux industries pharmaceutique, cosmétique, textile, électrique, etc. ;

- exploration et production d'hydrocarbures (7,9% ; n° 1 mondial) : 2,3 millions de barils de pétrole produits par jour et 241,7 millions de m3 de gaz naturel produits par jour.

La répartition géographique du CA est la suivante : Etats-Unis (37,7%), Canada (8%), Singapour (5,4%), Royaume Uni (5,3%), France (4,8%), Italie (3,6%), Belgique (3,3%), Australie (2,8%) et autres (29,1%).
